Thank you for publishing the story of Ko Htoo in last Thursday’s Carrboro Citizen (8/26). The Friends of the Carrboro Branch Library wanted to honor the memory of former board member Mary Frances Eldridge with a scholarship in her name. Ko’s story of his journey from Thai refugee camps to Carrboro in 2004 was one of courage, inspiration and faith, values that Ms. Eldridge would have championed.

Aldermen close to clerk decision
