I am chagrined that Senate Bill 460 has once again failed to pass. The bill is simple in nature, intended to have the regulations that already exist for pet shops and animal shelters be extended to puppy mills operated by commercial breeders.
Columbia Street repairs may cause congestion
The stretch of South Columbia Street between Franklin Street and Cameron Avenue is undergoing a repaving and reparation process, which is expected to continue until Aug. 13.

One killed, two injured in plane crash at Horace Williams
A private plane crashed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Horace Williams Airport shortly before 3 p.m. today. Emergency responders have confirmed one fatality and two injuries.
