N.C. 54 lot to require permits

On Aug. 15, the N.C. 54 Park-and-Ride lot off Friday Center Drive will become a university permitted lot. A valid UNC permit will be required to park in the lot.

UNC gets $1.7 million to curb HIV in N.C.

A team of researchers from the UNC Institute for Global Health & Infectious Diseases has received a $1.7 million grant from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to study novel HIV testing methods to detect acute HIV infection and target sexual networks to curb the spread of HIV in North Carolina.

IFC files for shelter permit, town council talks guidelines

The Chapel Hill Town Council continued a discussion Monday night on how to proceed with a request from the town planning board on how to develop guidelines for shelters. But the talk and the direction of the council were shaped by news that last week the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service and UNC had begun submitting the formal paperwork for a long-anticipated permit request to move the IFC Community House.
