Sports Brief: Hall of famers

Chapel Hill-Carrboro district alumni were inducted into the Chapel Hill High School/Lincoln High School Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday. Inductees were Mike Earey, basketball; Dovonte Edwards, football; Robert Edwards, football; Lizzie Newton, lacrosse; Steve Scott, soccer; and Coach Joe Augustine, football. Dovonte Edwards plays football for the Detroit Lions.

The Carrboro High School Spring Athletic Awards Ceremony will be held May 20 at 7 p.m. The ceremony will celebrate the accomplishments of the baseball, men’s golf, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, women’s soccer, softball, men’s tennis and track and field teams. The ceremony will be held in the Carrboro High School gymnasium.
