    On the bridge of his flagship, USS Makin Island (CVE-93), circa 1944-1945.
    The original print carried an inscription by RAdm. Durgin to the donor, who was the ship's Photographic Officer.

    Rear Admiral Calvin T. Durgin, USN

    Follows progress of the war in Europe on a map in his cabin, probably on board USS Makin Island (CVE-93), circa spring 1945. He was then commanding an escort carrier task group in the western Pacific.
    Note the map of Okinawa at the far right, with battle lines drawn for the period 19 April - 13 May 1945.
