    USS Newell (DER-322)

    Jacket patch of the ship's insignia, as used in about 1966.
    The symbols in the design (a fast-sinking type depth charge, crossed "Hedgehog" projectiles and the large radar antenna on the ship figure) represent Newell's missions: anti-submarine warfare and radar picket.
