SITE BASED DECISION MAKING REVIEW TEAM

The school's governing body is called the SBDM Teams. It is composed of the three Teams - Curriculum, School and Community and Operations and a Review Team. The three teams have as members professional and classified staff and parents. Each team has  2 facilitators, a parent and a staff member who are selected by the team members. These two facilitators sit on the Review Team as representatives of their specific team. Their responsibilities are to lead their team in addressing the issues of their area which will result in an improved school climate and improved student achievement and to report to the Review Team at the monthly meetings what their team is doing. The actions of the teams are determined by the needs of the school, request for a task action which can be submitted by either parents or staff, or direct assignment by the SBDM-R Team. The teams formally meet three times per year, but can meet as often as necessary to complete a task. The teams can form ad hoc committees that can meet for a specific period of time to complete a specific task that is not an on-going assigned area of their team. Anyone, staff member or parent, can serve on the three teams. The SBDM-R Team has the two representatives from each of the three teams, two classified members, a PTA representative. a community representative, and the principal.
