Amy Weaver Norwood and Donald Irwin Roush were united in marriage August 23 at 6 p.m. at University Presbyterian Church in Chapel Hill. The Reverend Dr. Anna Pinckney-Straight officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Gail Norwood of Chapel Hill. She is a graduate of Chapel Hill High School, UNC-Wilmington and UNC-Chapel Hill. She is a newborn critical care nurse at the NC Children’s Hospital.
The groom is the son of Donald and Marilyn Roush of Chapel Hill. He is a graduate of University of California-Riverside and is employed as a home inspector with Accurate Home Inspections.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Matron of Honor was sister of the bride, Mary Evelyn Norwood Starnes, of Marietta Georgia.
Bridesmaids were Laura Sweeney Ferrara of Baltimore, MD; Emilie Gantt of San Francisco, CA; Meleah Mauldin of Blowing Rock, NC; and Katie Young of Durham, NC.
Best Man was Eric DePriest of Pacifica, CA. Groomsmen were Marc Cameron of Marina Del Ray, CA; Dan Robba of Paso Robles, CA; Andy Starnes of Marietta GA; and Rob Woo of San Jose, CA.
The Flower Girl was three-year-old Ella Kathryn Starnes, the bride’s niece, of Marietta GA.
Scripture readers at the ceremony were Diane Roush and Katherine Roush, sisters of the groom.
Music was provided by Thomas Brown on the organ.
The Rehearsal Dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at the Carolina Club in Chapel Hill. The Wedding Reception was hosted by the parents of the bride in the Old Well Room of the Carolina Inn.
Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia, the couple will make their home in Raleigh, NC.
