Four tigers rescued from a facility in Warrenton, Mo. came through their physicals “with flying colors†at the Carnivore Preservation Trust last week, according to CPT staff.
The tigers were rescued Sept. 5 from Wesa-A-Geh-Ya, the Missouri facility that closed this summer following an incident in which a tiger attack cost a 26-year-old volunteer part of his leg.
It will cost about $5,000 per year to care for each of the new tigers and CPT hopes to raise additional funds to support them for the rest of their lives. CPT is a nonprofit, 55-acre sanctuary that is home to 85 animals, including tiger, ocelots, binturongs and more.
