Colleen Canvin Clark, 61, of Midlothian, Va., passed away Sunday, June 5, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband, Henry T. Clark III, formerly of Chapel Hill, N.C.; daughter, Melissa C. Trivette and husband, Mike; sons, Chris Clark and wife, Jennifer, and Michael Clark, formerly of Carrboro, N.C.; sister, Bobbie Canvin; brother, James Canvin; three grandchildren, Jordan Clark, Julia Clark and Wesley Trivette; mother-in-law, Blanche Clark; sisters-in-law, Laura Healy and Anne Billings; and countless friends.

Colleen was active in the Catholic Church and in education, working as a teacher, school counselor, peer-counseling coordinator and campus minister. Through these efforts, she has touched countless lives, and was described as a shining beacon in our world. All who knew her considered her a friend (or second mother), a role model and a spiritual woman.

Memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association of DC/VA/MD.
