Cigarette butts counted

Following up on two cigarette litter scans conducted by the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership in 2008, students from the anti-smoking alliance TRU hit the bricks in May collecting and counting cigarette butts on Franklin Street.

Interstate 40 repairs

The N.C. Department of Transportation has announced that pavement repair operations have begun that will require the closure of I-40 westbound to through traffic overnight between N.C. 86 at Mile Marker 266 and the I-85/I-40 merge at Mile Marker 259.
