Talking to all these folks returning form Maine, Minnesota and elsewhere and then seeing the official forecast calling for cold, 40 degree weather made me laugh.
We don’t know what cold is round here. But we will see some 20s at night.
And, it did just thunder. To many of us that means snow within 10 days or so. So maybe winter is here after all.
Rainwise, we’ve got about a half-inch on the gauge at noon and more on the way.

Thunder = snow in 10 days. Thanks! I’d forgotten the old adage, and since it’s thundering here in Raleigh, too, I’ve been trying to remember if it was thunder or lightning that foretold the fluffy white stuff!
I’ve heard another rumor that if you sow grass seed just before or when it starts snowing, you’ll have a beautiful lawn in the spring with a lot less work.
Not that a green lawn is super important, especially with the draughts we’ve had, but if it can happen without extra watering… I’m all for it!
y’all keep dry!
