McIntyre’s hosts poets this week

Jonathan K. Rice and M. Scott Douglass will read from and discuss selected works as part of the N.C. Poetry Society Reading. Rice is the editor and publisher of Iodine Poetry Journal, which he established in 2000. He authored the chapbook Shooting Pool With A Cellist in 2003, and his full-length collection, Ukulele and Other Poems in 2006. His poetry has appeared in many periodicals. Douglass is the publisher and managing editor of Main Street Rag Publishing Company, founded in 1996 with the publication of his quarterly literary magazine, The Main Street Rag. His poetry has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and he was the recipient of a N.C. Arts & Science Emerging Artists Grant in 2001 that was used to publish his first full-length poetry collection, Auditioning For Heaven. He is also the author of Balancing On Two Wheels, Book Building 101, STEEL WOMB Revisited and Dip Says Hi.
