Gimme Five! Alanna and Eddie of Jews and Catholics

In 2005, Alanna Meltzer-Holderfield and Eddie Garcia joined forces under the irreverent moniker Jews and Catholics to create guitar shredding, bass thumping, furiously psychedelic rock music.  It’s been six years since their first gig and in that time they’ve released a record, traded a drum machine for an actual drummer (Tyler Reeder), and melted a few faces.

So sure these guys know how to rock, but can Alanna and Eddie handle our little five question hazing? See for yourself after the jump.

Gimme Five! David Mueller of Heads on Sticks

When not busy playing bass in Birds of Avalon, David Mueller’s been nurturing his own solo project, Heads on Sticks.  The band’s musical abandon into experimental fields of rhythmic frenzy and energetic melodies have already garnered them some due attention (notably a spot at the upcoming Hopscotch Fest).

All that potential is well and fine, but it’s no guarantee Mueller can handle the Gimme Five treatment. Will he survive? Find out after the jump.

Gimme Five! Emily Hilliard of Wildegeeses

Emily Hilliard, Zeke Graves, Will Hackney, and Charlie Hearon kicked off their alliance as a Michael Hurley cover band, but they’ve since grown into a stringband sound all their own that’s full of nods to the old weird south and its odd new derivatives.  So sure they can pick and sing a tune, but can one of their own handle these five head-scratchers?  Find out after the jump.

Gimme Five! Ian Leinbaugh of The Fooligans

The Fooligans are just beginning their onslaught on the music scene, so what better way to welcome them than to make one of their own face down five furious questions.  Lead guitarist and singer, Ian Leinbaugh, has gladly stepped up to speak for himself and his fool army, bassist John and drummer Neil Colvin.  See what he’s got to say after the jump.
