Gimme Five! Murat Dirlik of Caltrop

Four years ago, Carrboro’s reigning blues-bent metal titans, Caltrop, released their debut record. This April, they unleash their follow-up, ten million years and eight minutes.
Before they can shock your eardrums with their peculiar and awesome blend of influences, we asked one of their own to face our five question assault. See the results after the jump.

Gimme Five! Reed Turchi of TURCHI

Reed Turchi, Cameron Weeks and Chris Reali play boogie blues with a north Mississippi bent. Their debut, Road Ends in Water, is a slide heavy guitar album that highlights their ability to conjure a slow groove, whip out a classic riff, or just rock out.
Sure, these boys have a handle on the sliding styles of blues, but can their leader handle a few hard hitting questions? See for yourself after the jump.

“Lets be honest, subgenres are fucking stupid,” or so says the bio for Raleigh five piece River City Ransom. The bands aggressive rock sound may harness a range of influences, but these boys have no time for the semantics of music critic fluff. Thankfully, their lead singer, Blake Schlukbier, did have time to entertain a few questions.
Can he handle the five hardest questiins in faux business, though? See for yourself after the jump.
