Look who just turned up in my backyard. This is a “species-of-special-concern,†“we-no-longer-have-these-in-Bolin-Forest,†genuine four-toed salamander.
Emily Hilliard, Zeke Graves, Will Hackney, and Charlie Hearon kicked off their alliance as a Michael Hurley cover band, but they’ve since grown into a stringband sound all their own that’s full of nods to the old weird south and its odd new derivatives. So sure they can pick and sing a tune, but can one of their own handle these five head-scratchers? Find out after the jump.

UPDATE: The Love Language will play at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Also, Salt to Bitters will play instead of Twilighter, who had to cancel. Boom Chick, a dynamo duo from Brooklyn, has been added to the lineup and will play at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Carrboro Gets The HINT, a two-day music festival to benefit the Future of Music Coalition’s Health Insurance Navigation Tool (HINT), will be held Saturday, April 9 and Sunday April 10 at Jessee’s Coffee & Bar.
