Orange County Government Services Closed Saturday
Orange County services typically opened or operating on Saturdays will be closed on Saturday, December 19, 2009 due to the projected inclement weather.
Services closed include the Animal Shelter, Solid Waste Convenience Centers, Seymour Center and Orange County Library (branches).
Orange Public Transportation WILL operate the dialysis route on Saturday, December 19, 2009.
As always, emergency services are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Solid waste centers closed on Saturday
This from Orange County Solid Waste Management folks:
All five of the Orange County Solid Waste Convenience Centers will be CLOSED Saturday December 19 in anticipation of inclement weather causing hazardous conditions. Weather permitting, Convenience Centers will be open as normally scheduled, Monday, December 21, 7:00a.m – 6:00p.m.

Ferguson Road
High Rock Road
Walnut Grove Church Road

Looks like some areas of the Triangle will see rain later this evening thanks to what forecasters call, well, here’s the quote:
A STRONG WARM NOSE ALOFT WILL PIVOT THROUGH THE EASTERN HALF OF CENTRAL NC THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT… CHANGING SNOW TO RAIN OR FREEZING RAIN. ALL RAIN WILL OCCUR EAST AND SOUTH OF THE RALEIGH AREA.

Friday: Snow after 1pm. High near 36. East wind between 3 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Friday Night: Snow before midnight, then rain or freezing rain. Low around 31. Northeast wind between 13 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Saturday: Snow likely, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 35. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: A chance of snow showers, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

- Free Energy / Mount Weather @ Local 506 – With a debut record expected in the new year (produced by no less than LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy), there’s nothing but crazy buzz around the blog-o-sphere about this band of boys from Philadelphia.
