Announcing a new book from The Sun

The Mysterious Life of the Heart
Writing from The Sun about Passion, Longing, and Love

In fifty personal essays, short stories, and poems that originally appeared in The Sun, some of the magazine’s most talented writers explore the enigma of love. With unremitting candor, they take us on a journey through ecstasy and heartbreak, anger and forgiveness, fleeting crushes and lasting relationships. The result is an unforgettable tapestry of love: vibrant, messy, mysterious, and enduring.

Loose leaf collection ends soon

The Town of Carrboro will end its annual loose leaf collection on Feb. 27, so you’d better get raking if you don’t have other plans for those leaves. Here are some guidelines from the Town:

• Leaves may be raked curbside for collection
• Leaves must be free of all debris (leaves only)
• Leaves should not be placed in the street, drainage ditches, bike lanes or on sidewalks
• Leaves may be bagged and placed curbside for collection. Bags must not weigh more than 50 pounds. The number of paper bags is unlimited, but if you’re using plastic, you’re limited to eight.

As of March 1, bagged leaves will be picked up according to your normal yard waste collection schedule. The same weight and number restrictions apply.

Questions? Contact Chris Sherman, assistant to the Public Works director, csherman@townofcarrboro.org or 918-7426.
