I shimmied through that. I then had to throw four heavy sandbags, three more light stands, some gels, and some poster boards through the hole. I climbed out and carried all that shit to the car. That was a beastly chore in itself.

Then I went to the computer lab sent out a million email press releases to every newspaper, arts magazine, and tv station I could find. I finished at 12:45pm. I drove to Raleigh to pick up some wardrobe stuff from my Dad's house. I got some white dress shirts and a black blazer for Cal Davis to wear in the car. I came back into town, went to Harris Chewning and bought some blue gels to simulate moonlight. I bought 3 blue gels and 2 diffusion gels. It cost $25.00. I came back to the house, told Josh to clean up the house and wash his car windshield. We are going to shoot using Josh's car for exterior and interior shots. We may decide to use the Benz but we're covered if we don't. We rewrote the scene so now they are not driving but they pull into a parking lot to "get off the road for a while." Makes lighting much easier. We can use all the electricity from our house.

SO, the actors and Nathan got there at 8pm. We were set up by 8:30pm, right as it got dark. Then the rain started. We threw everything into my car and waited it out. By 9:15, it was only barely dripping down. We rushed out and set things up, and got the actors in the car. We duct taped umbrellas on light stands and placed it permanently over the camera. We set up some shots, did them, and then it started to rain pretty hard.

We busted out umbrellas...
