Then night shoots for Wednesday and Thursday. Then one shoot the next week sometime. Some ten-hour days will be involved for Aaron. That's ok, I know he'll be down. He has been real involved in the whole process lately. He wants to do stuff on his own someday and has been asking questions about production and the preparation involved. That's great for us because he wants the shots to look cool. When we do takes, he'll tell us if he's not satisfied with the shot or his performance. That really helps.

It's been six days since I last wrote. Six days of shooting, (well, kind of). We shot the Franklin St. scene, the brick through the window, porch scene, back alley shootout, restaurant scene and house shootout all last week. Aside from minor complications, they went off without a hitch. The alley scene was great. The lighting created this eerie green hue, which was tight. The blood pooling under the guy was also great in the light. On Wed. we shot the house shootout. Badass #1 and #3's deaths were ok, but #2's...good God. Amazing. We did a point blank head shot and got Nathan to crouch behind Kenley (Badass #2). When the gun clicked, Nate splattered blood and brain chunks (broccoli) on the wall. It was awesome. He slide down the wall, blood marking his path.
There was a huge full-page spread on the film in Friday's Herald-Sun in the Chapel Hill Herald section.
Two great pictures of the shoot at Café 101... |
