Most of the languages that are spoken in China are from the Sino-Tibetan branch of the language tree. There are about 365 languages in this group, and about 14 distinct languages spoken within China. Aside from the individual and distinct languages, there are several dialects as well.

Sino- Tibetan is not the only language branch that exists in China.  Below is a list of distinct languages that are spoken throughout China.  In brackets is the linguistically unique code for that language. In parenthesis is the country where the language is largely spoken.
