Fentanyl Fold

I noticed people bending over in San Francisco on the TV news. After a little research I discovered the reason. It’s referred to as “The fentanyl fold” It’s a specific posture that individuals may assume when under the influence of fentanyl, characterized by a drooping head and slumped body. This posture can indicate severe sedation or even an overdose, making it a visible sign of fentanyl’s dangerous effects on the body. So I wrote this contemporary folksong, roughly to the tune of “Give The Fiddler A Dram.”
I realize this is making light of a very serious subject. It’s in the spirit of Randy Newman’s Political Science

[Em] San Francisco is [D] chilly and cold
[C] But not when you’re doing the [B7] Fentanyl Fold
[Em] The city was always [D] nice and neat
[C] Till folks started sleeping [B7] in the [Em] street

[Em] Fentanyl Fold, [D] Fentanyl Fold
[C] Life’s a dream with the [B7] Fentanyl Fold
[Em] Fentanyl Fold, [D] Fentanyl Fold
[C] Life’s a dream with the [B7] Fentanyl [Em] Fold

Used to crash out on a bench
Now it’s the sidewalk, what a stench!
Government says “We’ll clean up crime
But that’s OK we’ll take our time”

[Em] Fentanyl Fold, [D] Fentanyl Fold
[C] Life’s a dream with the [B7] Fentanyl Fold
[Em] Fentanyl Fold, [D] Fentanyl Fold
[C] Life’s a dream with the [B7] Fentanyl [Em] Fold

Some say the governor likes it this way
Not doin’ much to earn his pay
Chaos to a level untold
But life’s a dream with the Fentanyl Fold
